Youth Spiritual Education

We are informed through the teachings of the Eternal Way, the golden thread of truth found at the core of the world’s religious traditions, that we all are indeed children of God. Regardless of our color, size, shape, or age—we are each uniquely imbued with Divine Spirit just as an ocean wave is imbued with the same water as the whole ocean. With this light of divine remembrance as our beacon, we are committed to fostering awakening to the One Truth known by many names in our youth and families by celebrating the unique expression of Spirit in each individual in ways that lead to living soul-centered lives in harmony with others.

Youth Program

CSE offers Youth Spiritual Education (YSE) programs for ages six through teens. Classes include: opening circle, hatha yoga or movement, prayer and meditation, age-appropriate lessons based upon ethical living principles (truthfulness, harmlessness, right action, love, purity/cleanliness, peace/contentment, and unity), illustrative stories, and activities—many times art-based. We also celebrate youth through our annual Youth Blessing in the beginning of December where, as a community, we recognize the Divine in each child.

Youth Yoga Camps

Each summer we offer a yoga day-camp for ages 6-12. Camp includes: arts and crafts, Hatha Yoga, meditation and prayer, singing, Kriya Yoga spiritual teachings, stories, games, and concludes with a soulful youth-centered production. Past plays include: God is All-in-All: The Story of the Bhagavad Gita; Everyday Gifts of God: Inspirations from Yogananda’s Life; and Dharma Tales: Finding Our Purpose in Life. It is from the context of divine wholeness that we offer our Youth and Family programs.

Family Programs

To support our young people, we must first begin to awaken and remember ourselves. We support parents in ‘remembering’ in ways that support both their own path and their path as a family member. We encourage parents to take CSE’s core curriculum classes, as well as offering our Be the Best Parent You Can Be and Conscious Communications classes. Our job is to love God in all.
